At Apex Facility Resources, we believe in celebrating not just the professional accomplishments of our team but also the unique personalities that drive our success. Our Employee Spotlight offers a glimpse into the lives of our exceptional team members, each of whom is dedicated to creating innovative and efficient workplace solutions for our clients.
In this Employee Spotlight, we’re pleased to introduce Lacy Mehau, Project Coordinator. Let's dive into what makes her passionate both in and out of the workplace.
Outside of work, I thrive off new experiences – new restaurants, shows, comedy, exploring the PNW. I like to cook by taking inspiration and “winging it”, always have a book in progress (next year’s goal is a minimum of 36), and I take my skincare routine very seriously.
As of right now, I’m still relying on my training wheels and having my hand held. My goal is to be able to help customers and our internal team manage their load by simplifying where I can through consistent communication and a curiosity-led approach.
My favorite thing about the PC role at Apex is connecting the dots – closing loops, managing the details and supporting the team. The scale, trust, and collaboration at Apex make it possible to focus on solutions and actually finish things, which is where I do my best work.
Work-life balance hasn’t always come easily to me, so I don’t take it for granted. In this role, clear expectations and intentional boundaries make it possible to stay focused during the day and fully unplug after – something I’m committed to protecting for myself.
A Sheryl Sandberg or Brené Brown (cheesy, I know). Sheryl’s strength was operationalizing vision, turning chaos into repeatable execution at scale, building sustainable operating rhythms, and leading through influence rather than authority. Brené values clarity and emotional intelligence, her work is about courage, boundaries, and leading with self-awareness.
The best advice I’ve been given is to be impeccable with your word. Clear commitments, follow-through, and accountability build trust faster than anything else. I strive to bring that standard into every aspect of my life. I might not always get it right but the intention is always there.
Impossible. I can’t do it. I gravitate towards restaurants that are cozy, elevated without being pretentious, and incredibly consistent in both food and service. They do a few things really well and execute them thoughtfully every time. The places that first come to mind are Raccolto (West Seattle) and Sugo (Pike Place area).
I’d open a restaurant or bar focused on doing a few things exceptionally well. There’s something deeply satisfying about building a space that runs smoothly behind the scenes while creating an experience people genuinely want to come back to. All of this, minus the insane hours and late nights.
I’ve never had a twinkie.
“Curious and Continuous Learner” resonates most with me. I’m motivated by asking better questions, understanding how things work, and continuously improving; not for the sake of learning alone, but to create clarity, prevent issues, and make work smoother for everyone involved.
