At Apex Facility Resources, we believe in celebrating not just the professional accomplishments of our team but also the unique personalities that drive our success. Our Employee Spotlight offers a glimpse into the lives of our exceptional team members, each of whom is dedicated to creating innovative and efficient workplace solutions for our clients.
In this Employee Spotlight, we’re pleased to introduce Tracy Marts, Senior Designer. Let's dive into what makes her passionate both in and out of the workplace.
I enjoy traveling, cooking, and sailing. It’s even better when I can do these activities with my family.
Our projects range from a single office to multiple floors of a building but often share similar problems that need to be solved. The primary problem is usually ensuring that the people who work in those spaces have functional furniture that enables them to concentrate on their work or collaborate with others as needed. As a designer, I help clients create a cohesive workspace through space planning and the selection of furniture and finishes. I can also work with them to reconfigure what they have as their needs change.
I find it rewarding to help provide people with a better workspace. If someone is going to take the time to commute to an office and spend a large portion of their day there, the workplace should be inviting and provide them with resources they don’t have in a remote setting. I love being a designer because I get to have a positive impact on people by improving their surrounding environment.
On work days, I make sure to take some downtime every evening. Once I’m done with dinner and chores around the house, I like to just watch some shows and practice French to keep up my Duolingo streak. Working out at the gym also helps relieve stress.

Taking time for yourself is very important. Work and parenting can be very demanding on your time. Whether it’s a date night, dinner with friends, or some solo travel – don’t feel guilty about wanting to make yourself a priority once in awhile.
Daniel’s Broiler.
Learn how to play piano. I never played an instrument in school and am not musically-inclined. I appreciate listening to other people’s music but it would be fun to be able to play music myself.
I have been to all 50 states. My parents and I moved around a lot when I was growing up as my Dad changed jobs. We lived in 7 different states and would take trips during the summer to visit national parks and other cities. Travel really helps you appreciate the people, history, geography, and food in our country. One of my bucket list goals was to see all the states and I finally crossed the last one off my list (Alaska) several years ago.
The Curious and Continuous Learner. It’s important for me to stay informed about new product lines or enhancements from the manufacturers we work with, so I can provide our clients with options that will fit their needs.
