Employee Spotlight: Steve Turner

In this employee spotlight, we caught up with Steve Turner - our Director of Operations! Read on to learn more about Steve:

 

What problems do you solve for clients in your role?

My role as the Director of Operations is to optimize the overall customer experience by defining and driving the overall strategy to build a sustainable, customer-obsessed culture. As a department we have to develop processes and playbooks that will delight customers in a repeatable and scalable way. In my role I also have to be the voice of the customer within Apex to influence service direction as well as other strategic decisions.

 

What’s your favorite aspect about your role at Apex?

I would say contributing to the growth and profitability of our amazing organization.  

 

How do you keep a healthy work/life balance?

By prioritizing my time into 4 categories. Urgent and important, important but not urgent, urgent but not important, and neither urgent nor important. By pushing my tough, high-concentration tasks to the mornings because I am more of a morning person. By leveraging technology wherever I can. By making time for the gym. Last but not least, spending time with my family. My family means everything to me!!!

 

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

Warren Buffet. I actually went to the same high school as Mr. Buffet!

 

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

Changing your thinking, changes your life.

 

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Ribeye steak, king crab legs, loaded baked potato, bacon wrapped asparagus, and garden salad. Oh yes and an iced cold Pepsi, or two!!

 

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would like to see cast as you?

Vin Diesel

 

What’s one item on your bucket list?

Sky dive
